Hosting a sushi gathering – suggestions?

This is what I prepared last time. Any suggestions for changes?

  • Photo 1 from front to back: salmon nigiri, salmon avocado roll, tuna nigiri, salmon and tuna roll, salmon/tuna/yellowtail avocado roll, amber jack sashimi, pink snapper sashimi, salmon nigiri, striped jack sashimi, tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, spicy salmon avocado roll, spicy tuna avocado roll, yellow tail nigiri, spicy crabmeat roll, salmon nigiri

I’m thinking I’m going to work in a couple of pure rolls (tuna, salmon) and make amber jack nigiri. Japanese market didn’t have eel last time but hopefully it’ll be there today.

Any other suggestions?

People eat with their eyes, colors/contrast matter, people want to be surprised with something new, as much as they like something theyre familar with

What Im trying to say is, make a colorful salad with ginger dressing to elevate the meal as a whole
